ISO AND THE CONSUMER

Why are standards important to consumers?Have you ever wondered why you can use your bank card anywhere in the world?
Or noticed that your baby’s toy has no sharp edges?

potrosaci_1383130696_670x0It is because they comply with standards – technical specifications codified into voluntary agreements.

Standards often define the characteristics of products and services. They are developed in an open process, reflecting the views of many stakeholders including technical experts, government representatives and consumers. The more active consumers are in developing standards, the more likely it is that products and services meet their needs – a win-win situation for both the consumer and manufacturers or service providers.

International Standards also help support basic consumer rights, such as the right to safety and the right to be informed, which have their origins in former US president John F. Kennedy’s declaration in 1962. More information can be found on the website of the international consumer association, Consumers International.

Standards also help support basic consumer protection (enshrined in the United Nations Guidelines for Consumer Protection) by helping to raise levels of quality, safety, reliability, efficiency and interchangeability.

ZAŠTITA POVERLJIVIH INFORMACIJA

Danas, u velikoj meri, biznis zavisi od informacionih tehnologija, komunikacija putem mreža,

kao i bežičnih i mobilnih komunikacija. Obavljanje poslova putem interneta, podugovaranje i korišćenje usluga treće strane postaju sve češći vidovi savremenog poslovanja. Lanac snabdevanja postaje sve složeniji, a mogućnost kompjuterskih prevara dovodi do povećanja rizika u svim oblastima poslovanja.

informacije

SLEDLJIVOST RIBE I PLODOVA MORA

Ribe i plodovi mora čine važan deo moderne prehrambene industrije u svetu. Primenom međunarodnog standarda ISO 12875:2011 o sledljivosti ribe i morskih plodova poboljšati će se sigurnost hrane. Učesnici u celom lancu snabdevanja imaće  tačne informacije o poreklu i karakteristikama  ribe i morskih plodova.

ISO 12875:2011 osigurava generičku osnovu za sledljivost i pomoći će garanciji zdravstvene zaštite potrošača i osigurati pravednu praksu u prehrambenoj trgovini ribe i plodova mora.
Potencijalni korisnici ovog standarda su:

  • Ribarski brodovi;
  • Kompanije;
  • Aukcijska tržišta;
  • Procesori;
  • Prevoznici;
  • Skladištari;
  • Trgovci;
  • Ugostitelji.

NEW ISO STANDARD ON TRACEABILITY OF FISH PRODUCTS WILL HELP IMPROVE FOOD SAFETY

The use of a new ISO standard on the traceability of finfish products will help improve food safety by supplying stakeholders throughout the supply chain with accurate information about the origin and nature of these products.

Finfish constitute an important part of the modern food industry. We consume more and more products coming from the four corners of the globe and fish, in particular, may be caught thousands of kilometers from their place of consumption.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

During the past decade, several food crises have seriously affected many countries. Following the outbreak, the concept of traceability of food products has become a matter of special interest to policy makers and scientists.

ISO 12875:2011, Traceability of finfish products – Specification on the information to be recorded in captured finfish distribution chains, specifies the information to be recorded in marine-captured finfish supply chains in order to establish traceability.

It specifies how traded fishery products are to be identified, and the information to be generated and held on those products by each of the food businesses that physically trade them through the distribution chains. The standard deals with the distribution for human consumption of marine-captured finfish and their products, from catch through to retailers or caterers.

ZABRANA PRODAJE LEKOVITOG BILJA, PRIRODNIH LEKOVA I MEDA…

EU zabranjuje i Srbiji prodaju lekovitog bilja, prirodnih lekova i meda!!!

Sve ovo veoma brzo pogodiće i Srbiju!!!

CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change is the major environmental challenge of our time. Global action is needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as adapt to the changes that cannot be avoided. ISO International Standards can help tackle climate change in a number of ways.

Klimatske promeneFor example, we have standards that:

  • help organizations to quantify their greenhouse gas emissions and communicate on them, for example ISO 14064 and ISO 14065,:
  • promote good practice in environmental and energy management, such as ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, and
  • open up world markets for energy efficient and renewable energy technologies.

Monitoring climate change

ISO technical committee ISO/TC 211 develops standards on geographic information and geomatics. It collaborates, among other partners, with the :

  • United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) on standards for satellite mapping and data acquisition and processing ;
  • World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on standards for meteorological and climatological data.

FOOD QUALITY AND SAFETY – FACTORS OF COMPETETIVE APPROACH ON THE WORLD MARKET

Competition in the world food market is constantly increasing during this century.

It is present in all the fields and primarily in the field of innovations in food supply, shorter periods of development and creation of new values, shorter product life cycles, aggressive competition on price, quality and production differentiation. One thing competitors particularly insist on is finding new and better ways to respond to higher and higher demands of consumers of agricultural products and foodstuffs. Thus, initiative and quick response to the changes of performances of the world market are of key importance for development of domestic agroindustrial sector.

Food safety is becoming a strategic aim of the countries all over the world. This is why the production of safe food has become one of the developing priorities in many countries. There are numerous factors that imperil food safety and production. Increase in international food trade contributes to satisfaction of various economic and social needs. On the other hand, it can cause rapid spread of infections and diseases all over the world, which is why everyone, including food producers, growers, processors, distributors and consumers are bound to reach standards of food quality and safety. The priority in this process is defining a strategy when it comes to food, determining priorities in meeting quality, safety and sufficiency demands, and an opportunity to find these foodstuffs in the world market.

R. Stefanović  at all.

ISO STANDARDS AND FOOD

Today more than ever, food products regularly cross national boundaries at every stage of the supply chain.

ISO International Standards create confidence in the products we eat or drink by ensuring the world uses the same recipe when it comes to food quality, safety and efficiency. ISO’s standards provide a platform for developing practical tools through common understanding and cooperation with all stakeholders on board – from agricultural producers, to food manufacturers, laboratories, regulators, consumers, etc. Out of more than 19 000 ISO International Standards, some 1 000 are specifically dedicated to food, and deal with subjects as diverse as agricultural machinery, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, labelling, packaging and storage.
